Frequently Asked Questions
Short and to the point: settlement, reserves, onboarding, and the legal nature of the settlement token.
No. dCLS is settlement-only: it executes settlement at an already-agreed rate but does not form the rate or match supply and demand. The parties agree the rate between themselves outside the system; dCLS simply executes both legs of the trade simultaneously.
No. dCLS handles only the settlement part — conversion and the mutual transfer of funds at a pre-agreed rate. The delivery of goods, the contract, and its terms stay between the parties and never enter dCLS.
Each settlement token is backed 1:1 by real funds held in a local jurisdiction and is redeemable at par. Backing is confirmed at the Proof of Reserve level conceptually — without disclosing thresholds or bank names on this page.
KYB is mandatory for all participants. Baseline checks usually take 2-5 business days; exact timelines and terms are set during onboarding depending on the participant profile and jurisdiction.
The section and the settlement infrastructure itself are at the β stage: the model and flows are defined, and work with pilot participants and corridors is underway. Connection terms are discussed individually during onboarding.
Technically, FiatToken is a settlement token backed 1:1 by fiat and redeemable at par on a KYB/B2B basis. Its legal qualification depends on the applicable law of the fund's jurisdiction and is determined at onboarding; there is no single universal category here.
Multi-currency netting becomes more efficient the more counter-flows there are. Several corridors provide offsetting counterparties: mutual obligations collapse into net positions, and the number of real transfers goes down.
